High Levels Of Blue-Green Algae Discovered At Lake Charm

Goulburn-Murray Water has issued a warning to the public after high levels of the dangerous blue-green algae were discovered at the popular recreational area.

While Lake Charm has not been closed to public, signs have been erected to warn the public not to swim in or drink the water.

Goulburn-Murray Water recommends that alternative water supplies for stock drinking be used and the watering of edible garden plants should be avoided.

Symptoms from drinking or exposure to water that contains blue-green algae blooms can include headaches, nausea, fever, sore throat, dizziness, stomach cramps, diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, muscle aches, mouth ulcers, blistering of the lips and more
