$50,000 to go towards commemorative projects

The Lake Boga Flying Boat Museum is to receive funding to deliver commemorative projects and activities.

$50,000 has been given to the organisation under the Government’s Saluting Their Service (STS) grants program to help commemorate Australian war time history.

The Lions Club of Lake Boga and the Flying Boat Museum will use the funding to Contribute to a project that will record the experiences of ex-service personnel who served at the Lake Boga Flying Boat Base during the Second World War and use the recordings to create interactive displays and presentations throughout the Flying Boat Museum.

“I would like to congratulate The Lake Boga Lions Club and the Lake Boga Flying Boat Museum for their successful grant submission," says Member for Mallee Anne Webster.

Dr. Webster says projects such as these are key for the region.

“Mallee has a proud military background and the actions of the Lake Boga Flying Boat Museum contribute to preserving that history for future generations.

"It is such a worthy project. And I’d encourage other organisations in across Mallee to consider submitting an application in future rounds for any upcoming projects."
