According to a statement released by the Central Rivers Board Chairman, John Brookshaw;
"Before the end of 2019 all clubs including the leagues will have a five year strategic plan providing a road map for their future guidance.''
"The merger of the boards of the Golden Rivers and the Central Murray is a trial to be evaluated before the conclusion of the home and away season 2020. Any future decisions about the governance and management of the leagues will be determined by the outcome of the evaluation and the motivation of each club."
“The Golden Rivers and the Central Murray leagues will remain unchanged as independent leagues serving their communities through 2020. Clubs will then make a determination to either continue this format with one board, revert to two fully independent leagues and two boards, or another format of one league and two divisions. The future goal of the Central Rivers Board is to have two very competitive competitions which sustain their communities.”
"My message to all club members’ and supporters is the Central Murray and the Golden Rivers leagues will be around to service the needs of the next generation of footballers and netballers. Other neighbouring leagues and clubs may come and go but our clubs and communities have a clear direction and plan for our future,”
